Josh Gruenberg represented Juana Aguilar, a 62 year old house keeper who was hit head on by a drunk driver in Rancho Santa Fe. Ms. Aguilar was life-flighted to the emergency room and spent five months in the hospital. Tragically, she developed gangrene and her doctors were forced to take off her right leg just below the knee. Ms. Aguilar also sustained several broken bones and serious lacerations to most of her body.

The case involved three other severely injured individuals who all maintained claims against the drunk driver. Unfortunately, there was insufficient insurance to fully cover all victims. After Mediator, Andy Albert held meetings with the parties over the course of several days, Attorney Gruenberg secured a settlement of $2,700,000 for Ms. Aguilar.


Attorney Josh Gruenberg represented a woman passenger who was injured when a driver drove through a red light. Liability was in dispute as there were varying accounts of who ran the red light. Defendants also disputed the nature and extent of the plaintiff's injuries, and the extent of her wage loss. Attorney Gruenberg successfully obtained a $295,000 settlement one month before trial.


Attorney Josh Gruenberg represented an 88 year-old gentlemen who was broadsided in an intersectional accident, causing tears and strains to his client's muscles, ligaments and tendons. This injury, commonly referred to as a" soft tissue" injury caused Mr. Gruenberg's client pain, discomfort and hardship. The case settled for $75,000 shortly before trial.


Josh Gruenberg represented a woman who stood on a wood chair to change a light bulb. The chair cracked and fell apart causing serious injuries to Josh’s client’s elbow. After suing the seller and manufacturer and importer of the chair, the case settled for $165,000.
